Home Food for Clean Water Challenge - http://mycharitywater.org/hfcw

All of us who go outside during our lunch hour at work know how much we could save if we brought in lunch from home. But we never get to it. Why? Lack of motivation? Lack of a need? Lack of a cause?

This time do it for the billion people who do not have access to clean water. Do it for the kids who spend more time getting water (which is not even clean) than in schools. This time, let us do our part and make a difference.

In a city like Chicago, people who eat outside during lunch hour spend an average of 8 dollars per meal. If we bring in food from home it would cost us an average of 3 dollars per person. It takes 5 minutes to fix a sandwich or 15 minutes to cook pasta. These 5 to 15 minutes can go a long way in changing the lives of people in desperate need for clean water.

An individual can save an average of 5 dollars every time he/she brings lunch from home (Every dollar counts. Even if you save one dollar by bringing food from home once a week, it still makes a huge difference.). Imagine the difference one person can make by bringing lunch to work for one day a week for next 3 months. It would raise 60 dollars per person which would bring clean water to 2 people for rest of their lives.

Take the challenge. Start small and you will see how small steps can make a huge difference. Join me if you can by bringing your lunch from home once a week for next three months. You will be amazed to see what we can achieve together.

For us - it is 5 minutes. For some - it means rest of their life. You decide!
